2009 Honda Goldwing What More Can You Ask For

Honda's dilapidated Goldwing model is one of the longest-running motorcycle nameplates ever, and is one which even those who don't hurry seem to always know- it's the touring motorcycle you can't help but to pick out of a crowd. For 2009, Honda begs the demand, "How do you improve on perfection? " for Goldwing riding faithful, those iron-butt champions of motorcycling; perhaps the answer might be "Uh, I dunno..." Honda designers, however, did have a understanding, and the 2009 Honda Goldwing is the testament to the reason that the Honda Goldwing is widely considered the pinnacle of motorcycle touring, ahead of many other, sometimes more expensive releases by manufacturers scrambling to catch up. An all-new Tire pressure monitoring system is added to all the comfort packages for the 2009 Honda Goldwing this year, further enhancing the safety of what is already one of the best motorcycles on the road.

The color options for the 2009 Honda Goldwing are pretty standard, but by themselves have never failed to sight stunning on a motorcycle. Candy Black Cherry is a staple Honda Goldwing color, (and the author's favorite!) as are the other shades- Pearl Yellow, Deep blue metallic, metallic silver, and Metallic Titanium. Pricing is the same for all, while the comfort packages will adjust the final bill. The 2009 Honda Goldwing Audio comfort package is the base point, and will set you back $20,999. The next tier is the Honda Goldwing Audio Comfort Navi XM, adding (obviously) satellite navigation and XM radio, two options you might accumulate difficult to do without once you've lived with them for a while. The next available package for the 2009 Honda Goldwing is the ABS option added to all the above mentioned options, and which has an MSRP of $24,399. The top of the line is the 2009 Honda Goldwing Airbag, which features the supplemental restraint system that Honda developed just a few years ago. This Honda Goldwing carries an MSRP of $25,599.

All the 2009 Honda Goldwing packages are powered by the smooth-running 1832cc liquid-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with fuel injection, computer-controlled ignition, single overhead camshaft, and two valves per cylinder. A five-speed transmission with overdrive also gives you an electric reverse, useful for extracting the 900-pound 2009 Honda Goldwing out of sloped parking spaces- not really necessary if you can dead lift half a ton, but for the rest of us, a true necessity. Thankfully, however, all that weight was thoughtfully placed as closely as possible to the Honda Goldwin's center of gravity, giving the massive touring bike what could be called "flickability." If you don't believe it, check out the Youtube videos of the pro racer on a Goldwing riding Deal's Gap. It's awe inspiring.

The 2009 Honda Goldwing gives you a 6.6 gallon fuel tank, plenty to keep you moving for miles and miles. Stopping is handled by Dual full-floating 296mm discs with CBS three-piston calipers up front and a single 316mm disc out assist again with a three piston caliper. If you're looking to tour now, the Honda Goldwing is the best of them, but if you want something more, give Honda a year or two for a refresh of this perennial bike. Chances are, though, you'll miss out on some spectacular riding while you're sitting on the couch waiting.
